As an alternative to .DE you can also register the new .COM.DE domain. Sub-TLDs are quite common worldwide.For example Australia offers exclusively Sub-TLDs like .COM.AU.

An advantage of the new .COM.DE domain ending is that you don't need an Admin-C in Germany. Besides there are still many interesting names available in the beginning.


There will be two phases until the General Availabilty will start on September 26, 2011.


Landrush (for valuable premium domains including one and two-characters)

Dates: July 25, 2011 - August 26, 2011

Price: EUR 399 for one year incl. VAT

If there are several orders for the same domain, there will be held an auction. Only the winner has to pay the amount.


DE promotion (for .de registrants to obtain the equivalent domain ending with .com.de)

Dates: August 30, 2011 - September 23, 2011

Price: EUR 99 for one year incl. VAT


General Availability:

Dates: as of September 26, 2011

Price: EUR 7.90 incl. VAT per year

To participate in the General Availability you can already register your domain. Your order will be effected on September 26, 2011.
